The Sharp Edge on S. St. Clair in East Liberty (turn off Baum Blvd near
Pizza Hut). One of the very best, if not THE best selection of beers in
the city. I think they now have 28 taps. Great thin-crust pizza
(especially white pizza with spinach and garlic), terrific chicken
caesar salad, other regular bar food and Italian stuff. They have
 darts, too.

I'm not sure if it counts as "Neighborhood Bar", but I would recommend
Sullivan's Pour House on Main St in Carnegie. Good Irish food, and good
 Irish pints.

 >I'd add the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern

Bloomfield Bridge Tavern is the most overated bar in Pittsburgh. Their food
swims in grease. The beer prices are outrageous. Five dollars for a Murphy's
 draft!!!

This has been an unfortunate happening over the last year or so.
The Sharp Edge used to be reasonably priced. They were a good
place to go a great selection with prices more reasonable than
those at Mad Mex, Fat Heads, and other good beer bars. But their
prices have been climbing. I still enjoy going there, but I
really wish the prices weren't so high.

I like Dunnings in Regent Square. It has a nice long bar, and great
Martini's and Draught Guinness. Plus, on Wednesday nights, they show South
Park at 10pm. There are ussually about 15 people watching it. The food is
great, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. If you go on St Patricks day,
get there early, though, because it gets busy early.

Are food and beer your only criteria, or do you also want the
 neighborhood bar look and feel.

If good burgers, sandwiches, and other "bar food" and good
selection of beer are your criteria, try either Fat Head's or
Smokin' Joes on the South Side.

If you're looking for a brewpub, try the Strip Brewery or the
Foundry in the Strip. The Penn Brewery is also good if you want
German food, while Valhalla on the Strip/Downtown border is also
 worth a look.

For decent food, a great beer selection, and a nice neigborhood
bar feel, try The Sharp Edge in Friendship.
