Although Tessaro's is great, every time I've gone there on a weekend it has been
packed--not really a dining experience. More of a feedlot experience. Mallorca
does have wonderful food, and the best steak I've ever had I had there, but I
don't think you can get out of there on $35 for two unless you share an entree.
If I recall correctly, everything is a la carte there also.

I would suggest the Union Grill, which although crowded has a very wide menu
including good quality steaks, vegetarian dishes, etc. Because it is all wood
in there the noise never seems jarring.

Or you could go to D'Amicos in Bloomfield. You might want to share an entree
there (for price and food volume reasons), too, but I don't know what they would
do about the soup AND salad that comes with your meal. I have not had a steak
there, but I have seen other people (clearly regulars) eating steaks that looked
 and smelled wonderful.
