Went to the new Thai restaurant, My Thai, on the corner of Walnut and
Aiken in Shadyside. In a word, terrific. The sort of tasty Thai food
that was being served when Thai food first arrived in the US and hadn't
 been sweetened and americanized.

I went to My Thai tonight. I had a similar experience, and the food
was pretty good. It's on the third floor of the building that has Ann
 Taylor/Moda.
Their steamed dumplings are good, they're the shumai type, and I had
the spring rolls that were pretty ordinary. I had red curry w/ shrimp
which was good, and I also tried a pork dish, 'pud prik', which was
good. Their Thai Iced Tea and Thai Coffee drinks were pretty yummy as
 well.
There's pretty good price range too, from $7.95 for veg entrees, $8.95
for noodle dishes/fried rice, and between $11-15 for specialty dishes.

The place is pretty decked out
and has a liquor license. The owner came by and talked to us and
walked us out of the restaurant. They're open till 10 during the week
too!! 11 on Fri/Sat and 9 on Sunday. (Too rare in Pittsburgh, IMHO)

 Check it out! :)
