Try "Friday, Saturday, Sunday" at 261 So. 21st., near 21st and Delancey. It's a small intimate restaurant left over from the restaurant renaissance years of the 70's. I think they are still around because they keep on doing things right. They have an ever-changing but small menu. I think this enables the chef to really pay close attention to each dish. I have always found the food to be imaginative and very well prepared. Prices are moderate, $15 to $22 per entree. Excellent service. Ask for Danny.

what about Fri, Sat, Sun - I think it's on 20th right below Locust, between Locust and Pine. It's not VERY expensive, no more so than Tequila's, and so pleasant.
