We had dinner at the Mardi Gras the other night my wife and I. Following
are our impressions to all who might be thinking of dining here.

Wine--------We had a carraf of their house zinfindel. Don't bother.
Very tastless and sweet. I could probably make some myself which would
be better. Tried a glass of the Burgandy. Better, but not worth the price
 of (I think) $3.30/glass.

Atmosphere---Very nice. Decorated with taste. Mostly wood (pine) with
very nice grainy wood. Cozy feeling.

Service----Very attentive. Did a very good job

Food-------Now here is what you've been waiting to hear. The food IOHO was
extreemly BAD. My wife had the Prime Rib. (supposidly the house
specality). It came with what my wife described as a pile of leftover
Liposuction debris with a small (very small) piece of microwaved red
something in the center. This was her way of saying that there was a
tremendous amount of fat in the serving and little meat. Also, it had
been microwaved and not roasted. if it was roasted it was done so a day
or so prior. Very bad meal to say the best.

I had the daily special of steak with pepper and onions. Tasty and good,
but the meat had been tenderized a bit too much and the texture of the
 meal was like mush.

Also, they have the audacity to charge separtly for their puney dinner salas.
for an extra $1.95 you get "it". If you get my drift.

These two meals were over $50.00 without tip. Tremendously overcharged
were we, and so mad that I will never go back and would advise anyone
seeing this to do the same.

Their one claim to fame is beers from around the world. I was afraid to
try any after the meal fiasco

Happy future dining, but I hope not at this establishment which just has
very poor quality food and charges too much.

The Public will not be gouged now that we have the net to "Pass the work"

 Larry,

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience at the Mardi Gras....

I've been going there for the past 5 years and I've yet to have a bad dinner
or lunch. I've taken numerous out-of-towners there for dinner and they've
thoroughly enjoyed it (especially the deep-fried cheesecake).

I particularly like their selection of imported brews...mmmmm!

The only bad thing I've noticed about the Mardi Gras is the long lines
 during the weekends! :(

 Hi Rich:

I agree. The MardiGras is way out of line both with their pricing and
the quality of their food and service. Even with a coupon you do not
 feel good about the place.

If they were not having problems bringing people into the place, they
would not be placing coupon ads in all the local north hills papers. I
guess if you love the beer, after a few you don't care about the quality
 of the fool.
