Lunch buffet - Doubletree Hotel

hi - tried this buffet today - it has good and bad points. It is on the
second floor of what used to be called the VISTA (Harvest room i think)-
low lighting, high window, pastel colors. Price for full buffet is 9.50
-though this increases in Dec. to 15.00 for the holiday season. Salad
bar alone (assume this includes the soup) is 6.95. Beverage is extra.
The soup was cream of wild mushroom - excellent! (No other choice). The
rolls were pedestrian, but salad bar was great - included fresh fruit
salad, seafood salad, pasta salad, real bacon bits and all the usual
things one would expect. I was not impressed with the hot food.
Everything was sauteed, including the mixed veg. Items included
catfish, veal scallopini, beef rollups, seafood pasta (creamy), roasted
potatoes and the veg (red and green peppers , green and yellow squash and
baby carrots) The desserts were wonderful - especially a choch. mousse
in a choc. cup and an apple pie. I would reccommend the salad bar -
after all, who needs desserts this holiday season.
