Well, as long as I have lived in Pittsburgh, it seems that I usually end up at very very mediocre restaurants in downtown Pittsburgh (read: some pizza/sandwich/bagel/whatever joint). Accordingly, I'm really really quite sick of eating sandwiches/subs and the like all of the time. Especially now that my work and school will both be downtown [well, Duquesne isn't exactly downtown but close enough], I really want to take advantage of the opportunity to really indulge myself in lots of good food. == So far, the only two restaurants that I have found to consistently offer really excellent [REAL] food have been: Scoglio's and Lemon Grass Cafe. Anyone have any suggestions for good [nice] restaurants where you don't have to wait an hour to be seated or to be served with food and which is a break from the sandwich/pizza/bagel blah that's all too common downtown? [Oh, and that you don't need to make reservations for.] I used to really quite like the food at Juno's -- but, then, when their name was changed [which escapes me at the moment], I found the food really quite Chef Boyardee-ish. My wish list: o A restaurant with real, authentic Mexican food [like the stuff I got out on the west coast] (that's downtown!) -- though, I don't think it exists. :| Mad Mex (both locations) and Cozumel are pretty good, but not close to even the food court restaurants in the malls [Mexican of course!] on the west coast!
