La Strada buffet

hi - had lunch today at LaStrada - 620 Liberty ave. Seems an upscale place
with too loud music but an extremely efficient, attentive, personable staff.
The buffet ($9.95) included an excellent beef/barley soup plus another one.
Soup was very flavorful, but could have been much hotter. In fact all the
food and the coffee (at $2.50/cup!!) could have been warmer. I mentioned
this to the buffet manager and he gave some sort of vague explainaation.
Ceaser salad and a mixed greens plus tiny bruschetta (bland) came next.
Main dishes were chicken parmesan, roast beef slices in a rosemary gravy,
talapia in an olive sauce, spicy tomato pasta and pasta with mushrooms. All
the sauces were very light and much better than the food - which which was
really bland. Various breads, but no butter were also available. All in
all just a fair dining experience. lois
