Koto Buki in North Hills

Went to Koto Buki in the North Hills last night and had a really fine
dinner. Before ordering they brought hot towels and small salads with
ginger dressing. I ordered miso soup and a combination maki platter (teka,
california and kappa maki; eighteen pieces total). The miso soup was better
than average and the sushi rolls were very good. They didn't skimp at all
with the tuna in the teka-maki.

My date ordered the udon noodle soup, which was very tasty with home-made
noodles! She also ordered the hot ginger tea, which was sweet, spicy,
lemony, and all around a treat! We didn't order dessert, but they had the
traditional ice creams on the menu. BTW, the restaurant is BYOB, so bring
along your favorite beer or wine.

The restaurant was tastefully decorated and extremely clean. The wait staff
and owner were all attentive and happy to discuss the food.

Directions: take McKnight Road north past Ross Park Mall. Go past McIntyre
Square and through the intersection for the Green Belt (Peebles Road). Take
the exit on the right for Babcock Road and continue towards Passavant
Hospital. (Note: there is also an exit for Babcock road much further south
on McKnight, but don't take this or you'll wind up in Milvale!) Past the
hospital, take the turnoff on the left for Old Babcock Road (there is a Koto
Buki sign here as well). Koto Buki will be on the left hand side of the
road, 1 1/4 mile from the hospital.
