Yesterday my wife, my sister-in-law and I went to India Garden in
Oakland on Atwood street, just a block or so away from Spice Island Tea
House. The food was fantastic, and fairly reasonably priced: we had
four entrees, an appetizer plate, nan, and raita for just a little over
fifty dollars. I recommend it highly.

What is up with India Garden on Atwood in Oakland? Specifically, what is up
with that *guy*? He shortchanges me *every* time I go in there -- and he knows
it too, because I always ask for the rest and he gets all aggravated. Only a
nickel or a dime but, hell, it's the principle of the thing. And last time I
was in there, eating alone at a table for two, he left the unused water glass
and silverware on my table, which was fine, but then he removed same from the
next table over, where there was a single guy eating, and he put them on *my*
table!!! What is, as they say, up with that???! I really like the food there --
it's my favorite Indian restaurant in the city -- but I'm not sure I can go
back. And given the dearth of good restaurants in this place, that feels like a
 big deal.

 Sigh,
 Amy
