Although not in Pittsburgh, I'm going to mention an excellent dining experience I've just encountered.

I went to Helen's Restaurant at Seven Springs this past Monday with a group of eight people. The meal was nothing short of great! I started my meal with some wine from their extensive wine list along with my appetizer of bear kielbasa. Thata's right, BEAR!...and it was excellent; nice and mild and smokey. I tried a taste of my friend's trout en phyllo which made me wish I had ordered it. My salad then came with the home made ranch dressing that was not too tart and not too bland; just right.

For the main course, I had Steak Diane. A big steak with just the right amount of garlic. Various sauces wiere served with my steak. It was delicious. I had a taste of the rack of lamb. that was very good also.

For dessert, I had the creme brulee - very rich and smooooth. Their cappachino is excellent also.

The ambiance is exceptional. Fortunately, the night I was there was downright cold, so the fireplace was burning. I truly feel that no one could find fault with this place. The prices were not cheap, but with the level of food, service and ambiance, I can appreciate the price. Cost would be approximately $60 -$70 per person, this includes an appetizer, meal, alcoholic drink and dessert.
