Hello from the North Coast...Pittsburgh is one of our favorite places to come spend a weekend, your downtown is fantastic (at least what we've seen so far) Our favorite places to eat so far: Piccolo Piccolo - cozy as all get out, and not expensive Top of the Triangle (??) - we were lucky to get a window table, and the food was very hi-class Sterling's (in Hilton) - I was introduced to steak Pittsburgh-style here, great. There was also Christopher's, fantastic, and a Mandarin place downtown (on Wood or Ross?????, Mandarin Garden? Great appetizers.) And this is just downtown, we haven't yet ventured out into the suburbs...just to let you folks know that you have some great places there. Cheers... (and no, I don't follow football. Steelers v Browns: huh? So no flames OK? :-} ) C

The 'caterer' type people were scraping the plates onto a tray that was in the back of the room (and stayed there as long as we were there.) Bleh. I do *not* recommend having a party/formal/etc. there. -Crystal

We had a reservation, but still had to spend 45 minutes at the bar. We requested, and got, a seat in the no smoking section, but a couple at the next table (a "Mr. Gold Chains" type) insisted on smoking since they couldn't have a seat in the smoking section. The management did nothing to stop this, and by the time we finished dinner, half the non-smoking section was smoking!!! My advice -- take the elevator up to the Top of the Triangle, look out the window for 30 seconds, leave and go to Sterlings at the Hilton (great food) or the Terrace room at the William Penn.

There is an Indonesian restaurant called Bachri's right nest to the stop. (also has a few middle eastern dishes on the menu.)
