First I want to thank all that responded to my request specifically Marcy Robb of Apple.Ca. I spent one night in Pittsburgh but managed to see some interesting parts of it. Despite the fact that my town's hockey (the Ottawa Senators) lost to the Penguins, I enjoyed my stay and found the Pittsbugheans very helpful and friendly. I did try *Mallorca* and found it *quite enjoyable*. Although I wouldn't try to compare it to restaurants in Spain, California or Ottawa as it is different , I would say that it is definitely on top of my list to go to should I be in Pittsburgh again. The inside decor is cozy and interesting. It also has a nice small patio for eating outside. The waiters are neatly dressed in Tuxes and the service is very courteous and and friendly. The dresscode is informal. We were three and the bill came to about $65 US including drinks which I think is quite reasonable. Two of us had the Garlic soup (Yummm) and all of us had the Paella. The seafood in the Paella was in generous portions compared to other Spanish restaurants I've been to in North America and Europe. I would recommend that you ask them to hold the chicken and Sausage though, they seem somewhat out of place. The sea food included Clams, Oysters, Mussels and even a full Barbecued Lobster. We were short on time so we couldn't have their dessert. Because the Paella comes in such generous portions, it may be wise to order only one dish for two people. We pigged out and ordered one for each and almost finished it all. Other people in our group went to other restaurants near the Hotel we stayed in (The Westin). I heard a few of them talk of a good Italian restaurant near the Hotel- Sorry I didn't catch its name. But between Mallorca and comments from the others in the group about the other estaurants I believe that those who didn't think that Pittsburgh had good dining should look again. BTW for those hockey fans, I think that were it not for Mario Lameiux we would have tied or even.....well, maybe not the latter! Ahmed
