I believe that it is close to PPG Place. He provides one of the cheapest lunches in Oakland---no doubt he is doing the same downtown. As you would expect, he provides vegetarian as well as meat dishes. Chris

Funny, I consider the Oyster House to have the best fish sandwich I ever had. You won't find more atmosphere anywhere, either. Even if it's old and smokey. Marty

Somewhere near or between Heinz > Hall and Oxford Center. Market Square maybe? How I had posted a little while ago about the Asian Express on Liberty, one storefront up from Fifth. It's a hole in the wall, but food's made fresh and lots for your money. Service is fast food style, order at the counter and served on a plastic tray. During the rush they cook the specials ahead and keep it in a steam table, but they don't cook it all at 11.00 am like some places. It was always pretty fresh when I got it. I used to eat there 3-4 days a week when I was going to school downtown, about 3 years ago. Last time I got food there was about a year ago, and it was still pretty good. Hunan chicken and General Tso's were my usuals, (ask for some hot chili oil to spoon over) pot stickers were good, but served with another huge mound of rice I could never eat all of. Hours are about 11.00 am till 6.00 pm, I believe. Prices were 4.25 - 5.25. Joe Sestrich [email removed]

One place I have eaten is the cafeteria for PNC bank in their building
on Wood and Fifth. The food is pretty good and you get a view of
Pittsburgh from a number of stories. There is also the Paragon lunch in
the basement of the Koppers building.
