P.R. Chaboot's, a bar on 31 near Donegal, has excellent ribs.

Casa Chapala on 31 in Somerset is good mexican food, as Pennsylvania mex goes.

The Italian Oven in Somerset is the best of the chain (in fact, that's where it started). My Sicilian friends eat there without complaining, if that's enough of a recommendation.

Helen's is the only really nice restaurant in the area. If you go eat trout they pull it from the small ponds & steams on the grounds. The house smoked is so clean if defies *fish*. I had a lovely poached trout with crab & dill beurre blanc there. If you want to take a stop in Ligonier & go route 30 instead of the pike I know several nice places there. GAT.

It's called the Oakhurst Tea Room. The food there is excellent and it has a great seafood buffet on Fridays at about 1/2 the price of the one at the Springs...

I disagree strenuously. The Oakhurt Tea Room is old-folks' mushy food. Lots of quantity, very little taste.

I second GAT's recommendation of Helen's. If you are wealthy.

You might try the Pine Grill, near the Somerset turnpike entrance. Their lamb chops and grilled trout are both excellent.
