If you like a good fish sandwich... "bar" style, and don't mind the total lack of atmosphere, there's a bar called (oi vey) "Uncle Bob's" on 228. They have really good food, especially fish sandwiches. As mentioned by another posted, Log Cabin Inn, although pricey, is pretty good. Also, Hartner's is okay for lunch. I've never been there for dinner, maybe someone else can clue us in. Cindyk Amy and Michael D. wrote: > I find myself in Cranberry more and more. Is there anywhere decent to > eat? They have great salads, pasta, fish sandwiches, hamburgers and broasted chicken. There's no alcohol and the no-smoking area doesn't really exist, but the food is excellent. - Steve

I think most of the OC locals head to Hoss's. there doesn't seem to be much of local rest. support. If you head up the hill towards Seneca and teh Cranberry Mall, you can grab a gigantic breakfast at Shirley's - full of locals and Long Haul truckers, the country music countdown should be playing! If I think of any others I'll let you know. Thanks for the various suggestions. The restaurant near the bridge was closed, the restaurant in the Holiday Inn didn't serve lunch, so we wound up at Hoss's. I've eaten at many Hoss's over the years, but the one in Oil City was about the worst I've ever been in. They managed to:
completely screw up my order (and I had to insist
they replace it - why should it have taken any
convincing on my part at all???)
serve my daughter's steak next-to-raw
<sigh> I'm not sure if my bout with food poisoning later that afternoon was due to their fine establishment or something else but...
I think the next time I go visit my daughter in Titusville, we'll just stick to the local fast food.NNTP-Posting-Date: 25 Oct 1999 13:25:35 GMT X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 4.72.3110.5 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.3110.3 Xref: alexander.INS.CWRU.Edu pgh.food:9416 The Depot in Franklin is not bad for family style stuff. The Wolf's den is up that way somewhere (may be one exit past route 8 on 80) is is also pretty good. Laurie M. wrote in message ... >Thanks for the various suggestions. Wolf's den is pretty good, but it's hell and gonefrom Titusville. You're right about it being off 80. Michael Danny wrote: > The Depot in Franklin is not bad for family style stuff. New North Park Lounge Deck House is always a good standby (same menu as original NPL) 4.Drive Back down 79 or 19 a few miles and go get a sandwich at the Wexford Post Office Deli on 910.
