It's been years, but I think Summit itself has a pretty nice place to eat.

Going east on US 40 for 10 miles or is Nemacolin, probably the finest place to eat anywhere around. It's quite pricy, though, and reservations are probably necessary.

For good hearty eating, try The Porch. Go west from Summit towards Uniontown, exit 40 at the botom of the hill, and proceed toward Uniontown. It's maybe 3 or 4 miles, on the right. They serve a fine buffet.

Good luck! Report afterwards how it comes out.

I have not eaten there myself, but Chez Gerard (French cuisine) in Hopwood has a good reputation. Hopwood is the little community at the base of the summit, just east of Uniontown, so it is close to the Summit Inn.

Tell them not to come back home without getting a bag of freshly made potato chips (hot out of the fryer) from Ruse's Roost. It's right across the street from Chez Gerard.
