We really like Chinese on Carson's Dim Sum. The menu is smaller than TaiPei's but the quality is better (ie. I have gotten sick from Taipei's Dim Sum before). Also if you are a price conscious student, Chinese on Carson is very reasonable. Elizabeth

Dim Sum?

If you mean the sort served from the carts, I know of no place that does so. If you are just referring to the type of food (but ordered from menus), the Tai Pai in Shadyside has good Dim Sum on Sundays. Jim Mann
I know for sure that the New Dumpling House on Murray Ave. in Squirrel Hill serves a Dim-Sum menu from 11am-3pm Monday through Sunday. I have only tried it once and wasn't too impressed, because of having sampled the Dim-Sum in San Francisco on various occassions. However, they may have improved since I last went (about a year ago). > Which restaurants in Pittsburgh serve Dim Sum? Which days of the week or > month do they have it? > > Dan. Siouxsie
I've been there and their food is EXCELLENT!!! Cindyk Anthony and Gina wrote: > New Dumpling House on Murray in SquirrelHill has Dim Sum, Monday through > Sunday 11 am to 4 pm, according to my take out menu, but I have never > had it, so I cannot give an appraisal.
I just wanted to thank everyone for all of their suggestions. We have tried the New Dumpling House (I think that's its name) on Murray in Squirrel Hill. While they didn't have a lot of the items we wanted, they did have some that were really, really tasty; unfortunately, it was a little more expensive than it is in San Francisco - there's a switch. We're probably going to try the Chinese on Carson place next. Thanks again!
No, it's not from the carts, unfortunately. There's a menu with about 20 items (unfortunately they never have the fried sesame balls, which are among my favorite) and they usually just bring it out as it's done. I've been to Tai Pei in Shadyside for dinner and thought the food was disgusting...very Le Choi. Jim M. wrote: > RNJ wrote in message ... > >Decently priced? By that, give a range? as usual I have an opinion - Chineese on Carson has Dim sum an Sat & Sun morn - it is reasonable to me - been there my self and with friends it was no more expensive that regular Chineese - actually cheaper when ordering 4-5 things plus - I think it is good quality for what you get - this isn't China Town in a big city. mike Craig B. wrote: > Are there any good Dim Sum places in Pittsburgh that are decently priced? > > -Craig > ---Share what you know. Chinese on Carson also has dim sum on Sunday's but I don't like them very much. Kate
