Gosh, there's a large number of excellent Chinese restaurants in Philadelphia, especially in Chinatown. What price range do you have in mind and what area of Philadelphia?

If you are interested in Center City locations, you won't go wrong with Susannah Foo's on Walnut Street, but be sure to make reservations and be prepared to spend a lot of money. This restaurant is widely regarded as one of the best Chinese restaurants in the nation.

If you want to try some innovative Chinese vegetarian, try Harmony, which is in Chinatown, but I forget the exact location.

If you want a moderately priced Chinese restaurant in the Rittenhouse Square area (1600 block of Walnut), try The Wok. The food there is excellent, as is the service and the atmosphere is nuvo rustic.

You might want to post your question on the phl.food newsgroup for some additional suggestions.

Philly's best kept secret- Peking Duck House (how imaginative) is on Race, I think and has by far the best Peking Duck I've ever had on 4 continents. And the cheapest. Unfortunately, your high school cafeteria had more ambience and leg room. Go figure. The kitchen was huge, the dining room tiny, so they cater alot. I dare you to find better Peking duck, though.
