3 people for lunch. Decor - great! primary colors in ceiling fans and water glasses. Diner aluminum behind counter; booths, small tables & counter with cool stools, all matching bluish covering. Service friendly. Quick but there were only 10 customers. History - 24 year old female business major from Robert Morris quit in her senior year, opened this place in a month and a half. Hoping it flies, plans to tweak/expand the menu. Vietnames fare Noodle bowls $5.75 Asian Hoagie $4.50 Other main dishes $7.95 asian salds & appetizers ~12 types of coffee/choco beverages fancy juices Menu will change seasonaly Prices not outrageous, but a bit high for the simplicity with which the food is made. I'd call this diner or street food(?). Good fresh ingredients, but lacking the depth and complexity of high-end vietnamese food. Plenty of meat in the servings but slightly small overall (OK to be small, but should cost a bit less) Beef noodle bowl - Plenty of Beef; also lettuce, cilantro, carrot. pretty much plain noodles, lime dressing OK. They brought another spicier dressing when asked (hat pepper vinegar, I think) Asian Hoagie - fine, but the "grilled" chicken was basically cooked on the griddle with little to no flavoring (read hot, not browned chunks). Again, everything ultra-fresh and tasted good albeit the rooster sauce helped %-) Thai curry chicken - good spice in the coconut curry but not much other flavors except the coconut and maybe whatever bit of red curry paste they added to make the sauce pink. Plenty of chicken - needed more noodles to take up the sauce. some slivered green onion and tiny cubes of water chestnut. Iced Vietnamese coffee was the standout for me, since the coffee was strong and nicely bitter to balance the sweetened condensed milk. General opinion - we'd go back to give them another try, with the hope that they will come up to another level. Definitely interested in the crepes, so late September will be our 2nd test date. Food OK, very fresh but not that exciting - a good hot meal at this point. I hope not to have "damned by faint praise" but rather to hear that each time someone goes there is new news to report, and that we will all be enjoying this pretty little place more often in the future.
