Cafe Sam's was the first restaurant in Pittsburgh I went to while I was interviewing for a job at Pitt. My wife and I have been back a couple of times and we thoroughly enjoy it. The menu is mixed, mostly continental, leaning italian with losts of pasta-oriented options. I don't recall specifics, but I've had - on different occasions - their shrimp and pasta in garlic sauce and a sausage and pasta in red sauce, both delicious. You can purchase either an appetizer portion or an entree portion. We find the appetizer portion to be plenty unless we are REALLY hungry. Appetizer portions run $6-$9, entree portions about $4 more, with some non-pasta entree's up to about $17. By ordering a couple of appetizer pastas we ate and drank for under $25.00 Good stuff!
