Ok. I've been meaning to do this for a long time. Here are some of the specials we've had at Cafe Fratelli in Somerset (in what used to be Georgian Place and is now the Horizon Outlet Mall) and our opinions of them.

The names are not always original -- in some cases it's just my description of what I remember.

The specials there are always based on what is in on a given week; they like trying out unusual combinations. Cafe Fratelli usually isn't too uptight about going "off-menu", so if there's something you want, ask about it -- the worst thing that happens is they won't be able to make it. We have also had specials here made from local game, when available.

Veal Cannelonni w/Gorgonzola sauce - Delicate, not nearly as heavy as you expect cannelonni to be. The sauce was likewise tasty without being overpowering. A nice balance.

Chicken with Portobello - This is a pasta dish with chicken, portobello mushrooms, and a red sauce redolent with marsala. I fought with my dinner companion over who got to sop up the sauce with the bread.

"Angry" Ravioli - Ravioli in one of the most incredible sauces I've ever tasted; tomato, fontinella cheese, pepperoni, and hot peppers. I absolutely despise pepperoni in it's "pizza" form, but here is melded with the hot peppers perfectly. Justin, the chef who designs most of the specials, is especially fond of fontinella, and it shows up here and smooths out the dish nicely.

Penne' in Red Pesto - the sauce here is a red paste made from sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, and other ingredients. Good, though not as good as some of the other specials we've had.

Peppercorn steak - a good cut of steak coated in black, pink, and green peppercorns, then pan-fried, served in a brandy sauce. I'm not fond of red meat, but I'd come back just for this. The pink and green peppercorns make this dish much more festive and unusual than your typical peppered steak.
