Pamela's is cheap and the crepe-style pancakes are very good. There are
three locations: Walnut in Shadyside, Forbes in Squirrel Hill, and
Forbes in Oakland.
JoJo's is also good, but that's already been mentioned.
I also like Deluca's on Penn in the Strip District.Pittsburgh, PA
Best breakfast in PA??????
Another very good breakfast place is Anton's in East Liberty. The waitress there is remarkable. I don't know how anyone can function, let alone serve a counter, with the very long nails she has, and I found it remarkable also that she remembered my order a few weeks later when I visited again. I haven't been to Kenny B's in a long time, but he does have an excellent breakfast. I've enjoyed breakfast at the Tic Toc in Kaufmann's also. And Ritters--I love those buckwheat pancakes. I have to say that the best breakfast in Pennsylvania is usually the one that is nearest to you when you are hungry for a good breakfast. Gab in Eat in Carnegie PA, Rt 50 Washington Ave- I have eaten at many greasy spoons, in the area, but in my opinion Gag - n - Eat has the best all around Egg's - Bacon - slab, sausage - homemade, Ham fresh carved..... the mixed grill is alot of groceries on one plate for like $4 bucks..... Panckes are awsome - Waffles are awsome I could go on but it blows away anything in the strip or Pittsburgh my 2 cents worth - I have been eating at Gab N Eat for over 15 years ! they also have great burgers ! mike in Pittsburgh
I might also mention the "diner" inside the Market House in Meadville. If you are in Meadville in the morning (other than Sunday), the Market House in downtown Meadville is a good place to stop. Farmers from the area bring in their goods for sale. It is a mini strip district. Tom
