First of all, sir, if you are going to rag on the cuisine of my hometown,
and the hometown of other readers of this net, at least have the common
courtesy to spell it right. Pittsburgh. Otherwise, people will think that
you are referring to one of the many other Pittsburgs around the country
without the "h", like Pittsburg, CA ;-).

Second, I have to agree with you that Christopher's, for as long as I can
remember, has been considered a dive and a major tourist trap. However, it
was once quite "the place" and listed by several tourist guides as one of
the top restaurants in the country--so perhaps this gentleman ate there a
long time ago. In any case, there are many other first class restaurants in
this city (which stand up well to the ones I've visited here in San
Francisco and cost one heck of a lot less!), a very few of which are:

 La Foret
 Mallorca
 Cafe Allegro
 Cafe Giovanni
 Per Favore
 Bravo Franco
 The Carlton
 Jimmy Tsang's
 Cafe Sam

Perhaps you haven't been to my fair city in the past several years. If so,
I encourage you to consider a return trip--heck, I'll even draw you up a
travel food guide so you can try all the great stuff tourists miss :).

I know that I can't wait to get back to the Chicken Saltimbocca at Cafe
Giovanni when I return home in July...

 Culinarily Yours,

 Marcy Robb
