You recently gave me a couple of suggestions as to where to buy wood for my cooker. It will be a while before I can be generating Portland's best BBQ, but in the meantime: try Cameron's, way out east on Powell and Doris', in North Portland, just off MLK. There's a fellow doing "Memphis-style" BBQ on SE 11th, but I haven't tried his cooking yet. He doesn't have a cooker, as far as I can tell, but uses vertical smokers and a couple grills. Uses charcoal, too. But I do hear good things about him, and he sure tries hard: I see him cranking up the bbq's every morning at 8 a.m. --Jeff Frane
