Being a transplanted Toledoean, I always hit Tony Packo's as soon as I hit Town. Only know about the one on the east side , I have been told there is another one now. For Italian try Dominics if still open. If Carmels is still open good mexican. For Steaks there was a place on Sylvania avenue near Lewis.

There's a very good Lebanese place on Central west of Monroe. You'll have to check the phone book, I don't have the name.

The Beirut, as I recall. Carmel's was recommended for Mexican; I'll agree that it's a fun place but disagree that it's good Mexican food.

For pizza, there's a little place (mostly takeout) in the Colony on Central at Monroe, just by the corner of Midwood--it's named Gino's or something short and Italian like that--that makes good pizza. The Original Pancake House (a chain) at Central and Secor makes tasty pancakes but has had slow service every time I've been there.

You could always drive an hour north to Ann Arbor--lots of restaurants there!

Wait; now that I think of it, the Beirut is on Monroe west of Central.
