Neat Restaurants

Last night I visited one of my favorite restaurants and, as usual,
had a really warm, fun time. For any of you who have been to the Oriole Cafe in Berea, you know what I mean. It is just an old time, neighborhood pub that serves above average food from a better than usual menu. Also, good fun waitresses, a pleasant, happy crowd, and a good beer list.
I am not pumping for this restaurant. What I am doing is asking
others to tell us about similar spots that they know of that are neat places for good food that are not chains (they have some individual personality and no brass rails).
Just to get the idea rolling, another such place that I know about
is Snickers on West 76th in a residential area off of Madison Avenue. They have even better food, but it is further from home. Also, Night Town at the top of Cedar Hill used to be very nice, but I haven't been there for a long time; so I am not sure they are still good.
