My first choice between Cleveland and Columbus is the San-Dar Smorgasbord in Bellville, OH. (Belleville?). I believe it opens for the season in early may. However if you are coming on 90 to 71 and pass thru downtown Cleveland about lunch time on certain days of the week (including Friday and Saturday), the best lunch bargain in the country is the bratwurst stand at Cleveland's West Side Market. (West end of the Carnegie/Lorain bridge, head due west from the baseball stadium on Carnegie). Strictly standup. $1.50 for a great 'wurst. Kraut is extra, horseradish is free. If you want a more substantial alternative, either lunch or dinner, get off the E. 55th St. exit of I-90, head south about 1/2 mile, cross St. Clair Ave., and look to the left and right. One side will be the Slovenian Country House; the other will be Haufbrau House. The land that never forgot cholesterol. Have a safe trip! Rob Lake Environmental Modeling Inc. [email removed]
