A few years ago I tried Heritage House. I am not sure what part of Cincinnati it is located in. It runs about $20-25 per entree. They have wonderful grounds that produces their herbs and cut flowers.

As I recall they serve a more unique version of American fare. I had a soft shell crab dish that was pretty good. We went there because of a review that had been written about how they used their herbs in various ways in the dishes that they serve.

Hi Pama!

I moved here to Cincy from Atlanta (booo hoooo) and can tell you that there is absolutely no comparing the two (I'd move back to Atlanta in a hearbeat...) I'll be here for two years and there are some decent restaurants (Nothing compared to Buckhead, tho...)

The Maisonette (is excellent)
The Celestial ( is very good)
Ciao Baby Cucina (in Montgomery) - I really like this place La Normandie (Downtown) Blue Cactus Grill (very very good Mexican) - In West Chester King Cole (Excellent) - In Dayton The Pine Club (Steak - In Dayton) Morton's (Downtown Cincy) Wertheim's (N. Kentucky) - is okay German food. The Precinct (excellent food - but pricey) Primavista (have heard great reviews about this place - but never been there)

I'm wracking my brain - but can't think of any more. (Now, if I were in Atlanta, I could probably name 20 without blinking...) If you need more info, e-mail me!

I live in Cincinnati and like The Heritage-innovative,good wine list-get on their mailing list for very special dinners and wine/beer tastings, J's Fresh Seafood-and they aren't kidding, when we go we try Everything, The China Gourmet--simply the best in the area for chinese food-not run of the mill,Blue Cactus-don't be misled by the area or decor-this is good stuff!,El Coyote-have a steak here,or tex-mex. They are known for mashed potatoes-don't knock it till you've tried it. And if I may mention--no place is like any other. You will be very unhappy here if you are constantly comparing Cincinnati to other places . And very happy if you discover the particular joys of the area. Discover the Golden Lamb-one of the oldest inns in America. Meet people at Arnold's downtown-the food is o.k. and the people are further afield to Yellow Springs near Dayton-a town that is still in the hippe generation--a college called Antioch, Committed artists , and a great restaurant called The Winds-get on their mailing list too! Find Avi Bear's bakery in St. Bernard--just a storefront -go inside -you will be surprised. Try What's for Dinner in OBryonville for a takeout dinner that will knock your socks off.
Nope-Cincinnati is nowhere else in the world. Is that bad?
