Continuing a list of unfancy but good, downhome, warm ambience,
not-chain places to eat:
A couple of weeks ago we ventured East to see the Nina in the
Mentor Lagoons. It was well worth the trip, and on the way we stopped for a late lunch at the Bear's Den at the north end of Mentor or the south end of Mentor on the Lake.
It is a very unassuming bar on the outside, and not much more
on the inside, but they do have a large outside patio with picnic tables and umbrellas and the staff was very warm and helpful. We tested this well as we had a 4 month old baby with us and one of our group had a minor medical problem.
The menu was fairly standard: burgers, chicken, potatoe skins,
etc. but the food was good, generous, well prepared, and very fairly priced. Also, they have a good selection of beers and ales.
For a generous, good, clean, friendly bite try the Bear's Den.Cleveland, OH
