Do you ever travel on I-95 across North Carolina? Do you like great Italian food? If your answer is yes to these questions, you need to stop at "The Kitchen." Interestingly, it becomes an Italian restaurant ONLY on Friday and Saturday nights. During the rest of the week, they become a typical southern style eatery [fried chicken with lots of grease]. The Italian dishes they serve are second to none. I make this comparison to expensive Italian restaurants I have visited on my trips to Washington DC. When you walk in, I know you'll think you're in the wrong place. It doesn't look like an Italian restaurant [remember -- most of the time it isn't]. It is located on Second Street near Highway 211 [Roberts Avenue]. It's a small building -- you might miss it. The experience at the Kitchen is worth the stop!
