You're in luck--there are numerous *good* eateries in C.Hill and Durham--I have little to no knowledge about Raleigh, though. For regional (Southern) food at its creative best, *do not miss* Crook's Corner in Chapel Hill. Moderately priced, too. This is my favorite restaurant. Period. Also excellent: Mondo Bistro (C.H.), french bistro; Magnolia Grill (Durham), southern regional gourmet, pricier than Crook's; Pyewacket (C.H.), semi-veggie, good seafood, good for L or D. There are others, but I won't go on...suffice to try a couple of these. The Fearrington House (about 8-10 mi. south of C.H.) is a gorgeous, lap-of-luxury B&B--a member of Relais & Chateaux, if you know what that is--with 2 restaurants, lovely gardens, and several shops in a "country village" setting. It ain't cheap, but for its class of place, it's quite a bargain. Have a great time!

It can be described just like Magnolia Grill, above. In fact, last Friday's Raleigh News and Observer had reviews of both of them in the Weekend section. : Have a great time! Ditto. Michael Berman
