Would appreciate any : tips on good, unique or special places to eat, visit etc. Not really : interested in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Cherokee/Dollywood type wax museums- : trinket shops. Any replies by post or e-mail would be appreciated. :

Try the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway, just south of Asheville.
The food is good, the price is very reasonable and the views are excellent.
You can also make reservations to stay overnight there in the lodge.

P.S. Brown bagging is also allowed. They have only recently begun selling
wine, and their selections are limited.
The trout is very good with a riesling kabinett or spatlese.
