>Any particular kind of restaurant? Asheville has a number of great >places to eat. I wished I saw this post last week. I just returned from a world wind trip to Asheville. The only notable restaraunt I at was The Savoy. I highly recommend it. It leans toward the Meditarean style of cooking. I had a portabela mushroom appetizer that was went beyond the standard. It had a little bit of marina and some type of balsamic vinegar based sauce to flavor it. I forgot what my entree was called but according to the menu "it was returned by popular demand". It was pasta with a cream based sauce that had sundried tomatoes in it. It was excellent. If you interested in wine, visit the wine shop downtown. The staff is enthusiastic about talking about wine and food-stuffs (They sell various oils and vinegars, plus a small selection of cheeses) David Now nearer to the Mouse House
