We had a lovely dinner (Italian style) at Antonio's on North Salina Street. [C Reservations are probably necessary on a weekend.

There's a nice sushi place near the Amtrak station. I don't remember what it's called, but it sounds like "hamster" something, I think. Be sure to request them not to use lots of MSG in your food. Victor [email removed]
While not exactly quiet, whenever we go back to Syracuse we have dinner at our favorite restaurant, Pastabilities, in Armory Square. Excellent non-traditional pasta and great people watching too. Also, last time we were back, we had drinks at the new Pascalles (sp?) downtown. If the new location is any indication, the food should be great. For a neat, out of the way local neighborhood joint with great food, try Riley's, somewhere near Park and Butternut I think. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Chris Kantzes [email removed] "Als Ik Kan" Minneapolis, MN ----------------------------------------------------------------------
A number of year ago we had a marvelous experience in a restaurant not too far from Syracuse. It was the Brae Loch Rest. in Casanovia, NY. We took soem friends to dinner there. Since we were their house guests I requested the bill and offered a major credit card. The waitress (waitperson???) very politely informed me that they did not accept credit cards. As I was reaching for my wallet for cash she informed me thatb they would be pleased to bill me for the meal(s). I told her that I lived in Pennsylvania, not NY. She replied, "No problem just let me confirm your address by seeing your drivers license. My curiousity was aroused so I complied. In a few minutes she returned my drivers license and departed. Several week later I recived the billing which I promptly paid. In addition to enjoying a most satisfactory meal our pleasure was increased by the excellent and courteous treatment we received. ***************************************************************************** Lester D.
