Joe's is Italian, on the main drag (Route 13). If you are east of campus, try the Antlers. I don't remember the exact address but if you look in the Ithaca Times (free anywhere in town) there will be an ad.

Lots of good restaurants in Ithaca, I just don't know many steak or Italian places.

Its been nearly ten years since my graduation, but I'm told that Taganac Farms (or maybe its called an Inn) is still there. I believe that it is actually in Trumansburg, just across the lake from Ithaca. Both the food and atmosphere were outstanding.

Even thought you are in a quest for steak, you should probably check out the Moosewood as well.

Best Bang for the Buck: The China Buffet. Lots and lots of food, at a very reasonable price tag of $6.50 or so.

If you prefer better cuisine, however, try any of the following:

* Old Port Harbour (The food here is actually pretty good)
* Centinii's Coddington (Italian)
* Turback's (Excellent Finger Lakes wine list at retail prices)
* Thai Cuisine
* L'Auberge du Cochon Rouge

Good luck,
  ~L.
