I have discovered a wonderful place to eat: really fine food, fine
ambience, good service, extremely reasonable prices, and it is only three or four hours from here.
A week ago, we went to Ellicotville, NY to ski at Holiday Valley.
The skiing was great, but the eating was even greater. In downtown Ellicotville is a place called Jules and Johnies; a super find. The food is modern cuisine, and all four at our table were delighted with what they had. The preparation and presentation were just right and the sauces were so full and deep, one wondered how many days it took in preparation.
Take a trip and enjoy.

First of all, the chef used to do his thing in New Orleans at K Pauls and Mr. B's Bistro (one of my sons used to chef there. It is a really fine place and not rediculously priced like so many other good places in New Orleans) The wine list was very nicely done with a label on each page. It was not extensive, but had a very nice representation and was extremely fairly priced. My wife had Shrimp Jambalaya (Andouille sausage, and shrimp over heavily spiced Creole rice) There was enough there for us to take some home for another full meal (with a little more shrimp added). I had two huge porkchops with a honey/mustard glaze, COOKED MEDIUM RARE!!! (the only way to really enjoy pork - - yes I am well aware of trichinosis) Another guest had the seafood special but I cannot remember what it was. The last had raw oysters on the half shell (reported to be very fresh) followed by a Caesar salad. Vegetables were served family style. One was sauteed carrots; the other was squash and zucchini. We were too full for desert, and too delighted to stop smiling. Enjoy!
