Well, there's lots to choose from here. If you like upscale Cal-Ital
cooking, I recommend Just Pasta on Bryant Street in the city. If you
like sushi, Kuni's on Elmwood is the best, though Osaka on Main St.
has a better balance of options. For Thai, I like Jasmine near the
intersection of Maple Rd. and Niagara Fall Blvd. There's another
Jasmine on Union Rd. in Cheektowaga. For good Thai and Vietnamese,
I like Saigon-Bangkok on Niagara Falls Blvd, as well as Siam-Saigon
on Harlem Rd. There's a very good Vietnamese place called Pho Hong
on Genessee St. in the city.

For Chinese I will only recommend Rita's Crystal Palace (on Transit
Rd. in East Amherst) and May Jen (one on Elmwood in the city, one on
Kenmore Ave. near South Campus). There are no truly good Mexican
places in the area, so I won't recommend any. If you like Puerto Rican/
Caribbean food, Niagara Cafe and El Fogon on Niagara Road in the city
are pretty good. The only Korean place is Korea House on Evans in
Amherst, but it's quite good. For Indian food, I like Taste of India
(one on Elmwood, one in the Northtown Plaza at Sheridan and Niagara
Falls Blvd.) and Tandoori (Transit Rd., Amherst) the most.

If you want names of other types of restaurants, just say so. There
are plenty of less interesting places, and quite a few very strong
 places.
