My current favorite for upscale Southwestern: Inn of the Anasazi (in the hotel of the same name, just off the Plaza). Had my meal of the year there last year. Pretty good wine list too. For traditional northern New Mexican, I like Tomasitas (at the old train station on Guadalupe; a long walk from the Plaza, but very doable if the weather is nice). Some people say Maria's is coming back; might be worth a try. If you have a chance, you should probably also go to Coyote Cafe, the home of celebrity chef Mark Miller. A little garish, but the food is good (I describe it as what Santa Fe thinks Hollywood thinks is Santa Fe). If the weather is nice, hang out on the roof at the Coyote Cantina. Santa Cafe might still be good, but I think it's not as good since Mike Fennely (sp?) left for New Orleans. The Shed and Pascals: overrated I understand several very good Italian/Mediterranean restaurants have opened, but what's the point? I can get that stuff at home. St. Francis is a good hotel, as is the Inn of the Anasazi and the El Dorado. I usually go in a group and we rent a house or condo. Are you going for skiing? We'll be out there the third week in March. Save some food for us! Dave From X Tue Feb 28 16:30:14 EST 1995 Article: 14245 of rec.food.restaurants

The Inn is terrific and the old mission is very good I think it's called Turtulla's or something like that. Someone will remember. But for breakfast right across the street from the El Dorado is a small cafe Anita's I believe and they have fabulous breakfast rolls. (eggs, with bacon in a tortilla) with red or green chile. I believe it is La Tortullia (The Convent) and I agree the food is possibly the best in Santa Fe although it has been much too long since I've been there. [email removed] From X Sun Mar 19 20:41:55 EST 1995 Article: 14719 of rec.food.restaurants
