My current favorite in Albuturkey is Cafe Spoleto; Mediterrean cusine/French
bistro by two guys from Oliveto in Berkeley. Others are Artichoke Cafe and the Nob Hill Bistro; California cusine. For Italian, Scalo is the best. Just north of Albq in the small burg of Placitas, is Cafe de Las Placitas with Italian/Calif cusine. I've heard good reports of a new place called Seasons, Italian cusine, down in OldTown.
When you get to town, see if you can find a copy of the freebie newspaper
called Local Flavor; a good guide to restaurants.

Gardunos
M & J Sanitary Tortilla Factory
Barelas (for breakfast or lunch)

For the urban scene:
Scalo's (northern Italian)
Stephen's (expensive)
Il Vicino (wood oven pizza)
Shogun (Japanese sushi bar)

For Barbeque:
County Line
Powdrell's (on fourth st)

That's just an eclectic sample. Have fun!
