For BBQ in a very casual setting, I like A.D.'s on State St. Not *on* the water, but down town. There's also Muddy River Smokehouse. It has pretty decent ribs, but it kinda feels like a chain the way it's decorated. They have an excellent assortment of ales on tap. For seafood, there's a bunch of restaurants on Bow St. right on the water. See: http://www.portsmouthnh.com/dining/index.html http://www.seacoastonline.com/seacoastweb/calendar/dining.htm
