A great new place in So. NH

Just got back from the Red Maples in Bennington NH (that's NH!). A charming historical house with a great menu at very reasonable prices.

Sample of appetitzers; lobster crab strudel, portabella mushroom in pastry, Thai clam pot and "Red Maple Osyters" oysters topped with crab (my choice)--

Sample entrees: Pasta de Mare, Lamb chops dijonnaise, veal piccata, labster pie, herb rubbed ribeye steak, braised duckling and wild greens, salmon in filo.

Tonight I had a grilled haddock with oriental rice and She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed had the salmon in filo, both wonderful. I guess you could take that two ways--both the entrees were wonderful; and/or both the salmon and my wife were wonderful--all true....

Corner of routes 47 and 31, 1/4 mi off route 202. Dinner Tues thru Sunday. Reservations: 603-588-3588

I am only a loyal customer--no financial interest in the place.
