> We're off to L.V. next week. Could I have opinions on "the best" place > to eat steak? > I am surprised that nobody mentioned the Second Street Grill at the Freemont. This place is one of the top 10 best deals according to the Las Vegas Advisor. "4. Gourmet Porterhouse - $8.95 - Fremont - 6-10 pm, Thurs.-Mon. The gourmet porterhouse is a powerhouse. It's served at the Second Street Grill, the exotic gourmet room at the Fremont downtown, and it's only $8.95. This meal deal could be considered downtown's equivalent to the Rio's $8.95 prime rib." I've had the poterhouse there and enjoyed it very much. Nice quiet atmosphere. A great place to go to get away from and the loud casino noise. Jason Article 4326 of alt.vacation.las-vegas:

Steak Restaurants
Well, obviously it isn't too hard to find a decent steak in LV, though I must put in a word for a great little (tiny is more accurate) steak joint we ate in last month--The Charcoal Room in the Hacienda. Maybe 8 booths, 4-6 tables, dim like everything in LV used to be in the good old days. That Chinese actor who was in the Karate Kid movies came in there with a big group of his relatives while we were eating. Had a good night at the BJ tables in the Hacienda, too.
