I would like to add one more which I found to be pretty great. Hugo's Cellar in the 4 Queens. In fact I think it was Gary who recommended it a few years ago over on *P.
Re: Best Restaurant I just took my wife and son to Hugo's on 1/15 and we were disappointed. My lamb was undercooked and tasteless. My wife had the sauteed (sp) lobster and it was greasy. The filet was o.k., but for the money I wouldn't go back. Definite downhill from our last visit in 1990. Sam Article 1092 of alt.vacation.las-vegas:
I would add: Stefano's at GoldenNugget Hugo's at Four Queens Pamplemousse on Sahara Ave just east of the strip Chin's at the Fashion Show Mall Someone wrote: Robert S. wrote: : > : >Is there any restaurant in Las Vegas that is generally considered "the : best"? : >My wife and I will be there, during our anniversary, and I'd like to take : her : >to such a one. : >Thanks, : >Bob Strauss : >[email removed] : It is very difficult to pin down "the best", and we are only dealing : with opinions, but I'll give you a list of 3 based on my experience : and feedback over the years.. : 1. I agree with Gary about the subjectivity of a given opinion, but I'd like to throw in a vote for the Redwood Room at the California Hotel. (Note: this is only if there is a price/value issue.) There are probably better places, but it was a pleasant surprise when I took my wife there. From looking at the hotel, it wasn't what I expected. Highly rated in "The Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas" (which I don't have with me, or I'd post some more info, including the author). This is of course all opinion, but myself and a few others I know were less then pleased with the garlic cafe. Carluccio Italian Gardens in the Liberace Plaza has excellent italian food at reasonable prices in a very nice setting...
