J.P. Field's and Zia Zia's

With friends, we tried both of these restaurants for the first time during the past week.

At Field's, the first impression was NOISY! The noise of people talking, kids crying (we always took our kids outside until they settled down when they pitched a fit, guess that's out of fashion?) was augmented by someone playing a piano. Just one big room with no dividers - like a prettified high school cafeteria. They apparently have another room or loft area, but it wasn't in use. So NOISY was this place that the server screwed up our order. We could barely hear the server when they were talking about the specials, too. Some selections seemed flavorless, other items were received cold (garlic mashed potatos cold - ugh). Not a pleasant experience at all.

Zia Zia's was much different! We went there for New Year's eve dinner and had a great meal and superb service. The place requires reservations, and moderately expensive, but we had a much better experience.

Guess which restaurant we'll go back to?
