Thanks. I couldn't remember the name of that NG. Some cities use .eats, some .restaurants.

The best place on Cherokee is the little taco stand near Record Exchange. The only problem is that none of those places on Cherokee have good chile rojo or chile verde. At that "My Family Mexican Mini Mart" the asada, bean and avocado burrito rocks, and they bring you this bowl of homemade red chile/tomatillo salsa to put on it. They also have homemade green. It's as good as you get in Chicago. The only down side is that sometimes they play Mexican music way too loud, and the servers can be hard to communicate with in English, but the owners are always there, and they speak good English. Also, if you don't like cilantro, tell them "no cilantro" on your burrito. That's the way I always order it, and the waitresses finally seem to comprende, since it's been over a month si.

If you live up North you should definitely check this place out. I drive up there 2-3 times a week from Richmond Heights, and I often leave with a 16oz. cup of the chile that they sell me for $2.50. There's another place (a butcher shop) about a mile or so East of there that also makes good red and green chile salsas. It's called Carniceria Latino Americano, and they sell it for $12 for a mostly full gallon jug (you have to bring your own empty water jug), but they are undependable, and they give me the feeling that they think I'm really weird for eating so much salsa, and it almost seems like they sell it to me begrudgingly. It's just West of the Acapulco restaurant, which has awful food. Just awful. Pretty much like an El Maguey. I ate there once because I had a BOGO coupon from the Entertainment book. Never again.
