: Folks,

: I will be in Minneapolis/St. Paul on business for a few days and would : like lunch and dinner suggestions. Not particular on cuisine, most : interested in creative and inspired dishes with local flair and good : value. Will be entertaining clients. :

Here are some of my favorites:

Table of Contents - Two locations, in St. Paul on Grand and in Minneapolis on Hennepin. Very upscale, a little trendy and expensive, but excellent food. The Minneapolis one will probably be your best bet for entertaining client.

The Whitney Grill in the Whitney Hotel - Top notch hotel with an excellent restaurant. Their more exclusive dining room is called Richard's, and while it is amazing it is also amazingly priced.

D'amico Cucina - Probably one of the best places in the Twin Cities. a great italian restaurant. Very posh and very expensive. In Butler Square near the Target Center. They also have several more relaxed almost deli-style locations called D'amico and Sons. Excellent spots for a quick lunch or light dinner.

Buca's - three location, St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Eden Prairie(?). A kind of take-off on the old neighborhood italian restaurants back east, worth a check if your guests are looking for a fun, laid-back kind of place. Huge portions.

Palamino's - euro-metro-bistro styled place. Excellent food. In the LaSalle Plaza, near the State and Orpheum theatres in Minneapolis. Beneath it, on the first floor, is the Rock Bottom Brewery, a nice place to grab a bite and a fresh ale.

Randi's Tres Cafe - overlooking Loring Park. Amazing antipasta bar. Try to get a table overlooking downtown. After dinner, head up the street to the Loring Cafe and hang out with the X-ers.

Luci's - one of the better Italian restaurants, in St. Paul on Cleveland. Very small. Reservations a must.

Forepaughs - In a restored victorian mansion near the Ramsey house in St. Paul. One of my favorite places to go for a formal affair. Good food and good service in an elegant atmosphere.

Cafe Latte - great salads, bread, and desserts. In St. Paul on Grand.

The Dakota - nice mid-west cuisine restaurant with live jazz. Bandana Square in St. Paul.

W. A. Frost - Restaurant in a large old building on cathedral hill in St. Paul. Wonderful atmospher, especially in the winter with the fire places going.

Broder's Pasta Bar - great pasta joint in sw Minneapolis. Small, long wait usually, but worth it. Just recently got their wine license, and they have a great selection of Italian wines. (We live around the corner from there and go there often, so we are a little biased!!)

Soba's - On Lyndale in south Minneapolis. great food in a nice cafe setting.

Other to try include Sherlock's Home (great real english ale brewpub), Mudpies (vegetarian), the New French Cafe (Minneaoplis warehouse district), and a lot more.

Hope this gives you some ideas. If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me.
