Having eaten at Morton's and the Palm and a number of other high-profile steakhouses, I'd rank Manny's in Minneapolis as the best of them all. It doesn't have the history of some of New York's steak restaurants, but one visit will convince you that the owners and managers know what they're doing. The steaks are excellent, as you'd expect, but so are the immense and satisfying side dishes, the quality of service, the wine list, and the no-nonsense, so-unpretentious-it's-almost-pretentious ambience. The desserts deliver as well, particularly the whiskey bread pudding with hard sauce. And the top-quality cocktails are JUMBO. Oh, and the restaurant has a sense of humor as well. As you enter, the first thing you see is a huge painting of what is, unmistakably, a bull.

There are two really good steak houses in Florida. The
first is the famous Burns in Tampa. The second is the Black Angus in Ocala. It is here that you see the symbol of what else, a black angus!
