To get the flavor and atmosphere of the area, a wonderful place to go is Bowers Harbor Inn, north of the main part of Traverse City, 13512 Peninsula Drive. Try their salmon cooked in a paper bag! The restaurant is in an old mansion which is said to have a ghost. (But she wasn't awake when I was last there. ;-) Phone them for reservations at (231) 223-4222.

There's also a well-known dinner train which I *haven't* been on (but wish I had). It leaves from 8th Street and Woodmere Ave. Reservations are a must on the Dinner Train.

You can get more info about each of these on the Web. Enjoy your trip! 8-)>
