To anyone living in or planning on visiting the Detroit area. There is a fairly new restaurant (about a year old) on Woodward ave called Stewarts. This place is located on the corner of Woodward and Canfield (right across Canfield from the Whitney) and serves up a mean lunch as well as a fantastic dinner. The setting is casual, the prices range from $10 to $22, and the menu is a good mix. Chef Stewart is particularly good at fish and pasta but he has some excellent chicken dishes, venison, lamb, and filet mignon. Chef Stewart used to be the chef at the Union Street (which is where I first experienced his cooking) but has since opened his own place.
In short: The food here is outstanding!! Try it out! Lunch or dinner.
Also ... in the summer ... be sure to check out the outdoor
